Today I will be taking a look at what Taylor Lautner reveals about himself at interviews. Taylor was a bit more open about himself in a recent Box Office magazine interview. The ever happy and friendly seventeen year old is sometimes very rehearsed about what to reveal and what not to, rarely giving us a glimpse behind the smile. But this interview surprised me in what it revealed about the handsome New Moon star.

When asked about his fantastic physique and “being half naked “ all the time, he says.                                  “It’s weird…it’s embarrassing for me and I’m sure it’s awkward for  all of them (family) “.  He says his family hasn’t started teasing him yet but  ”I’m hoping that doesn’t happen because I start blushing “. 

While doing promo work for Summit Entertainment  (i.e explaining how in New Moon Jacob is 30 pounds bigger) you can hear in his voice how proud he is of his achievement, which meant keeping the much coveted role of Jacob Black.  However being seen as the body every girl wants seems uncomfortable for him. 

He was then asked about how his Karate skills have helped his career, he says… ” It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of training ” adding how it helped him with discipline saying.  “..and you need that for everything in life “.

Later he was asked about the fans and if he would date a Twilight Fan. He said ” I don’t exclude anyone “. hmmm! not exactly “Yes” or “No” but definitely a “depends”.  And Taylor is a fan of the very thing that sends most men running for cover…the “Chick Flick”. Citing “The Notebook” as one of his favourite movies,  he says when asked if he’s embarrassed.   ” I’m not embarrassed, I’m saying it proudly “. And he doesn’t Google himself saying ” that would not be good if I did that  …it could get into your head “

 And Inevitably, the subject came round to the Kanye West melt down with his friend Taylor Swift at the MTV VMA awards. His only comment…” Yeah. It was…unfortunate “  .

It struck me then that Taylor is disciplined enough to remember what film he’s attached to - i.e -Valentines Day and New Moon - and not do or say something to reflect badly on that and… that he’s just a nice guy!.

Remember the big ruckus about having Native American or First Nation heritage as insisted upon by New Moon Director Chris Weitz.  At the time Taylor said, “Well actually I do have some Native American heritage “. The story was then, that there was a “fudging” of some lines to meet the criteria. The other wolf pack members were the genuine article.

With that pressure gone and the required weight attained, Taylor’s Native American heritage became less of a requirement and more of a by the way. The interviewer offered… ” You have some heritage herself from your Mother’s side?”,  he answers.  “I’m mainly Dutch, German and French. That’s pretty much who I am “.

The interviewer persisted. ” I heard there was some Ottawa and Potawatomi?. Taylor simply answered.       “We have no idea how much there is - it’s in my far distant background “.

Taylor who cites Matt Damon amongst his favourite actors along with Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington. For RomComs he thinks Gerard (pronounced Gerr-id, roll your R’s) Butler and Ryan Reynolds are worthy.

E! Online’s Marc Malkin was talking to Director Gary Marshall who directed Taylor in the star studded “Valentines Day“.  Mr. Marshall said that during filming he found out that Taylor Lautner did some track back when he was in Minnesota and ” That’s why I have him jumping hurdles in the movie” And Taylor Swift likes to dance so in the movie, Taylor Swift dances and Taylor Lautner jumps hurdles.  Mr. Marshall made up a scene for them. He hoped they would have bigger roles but they were too busy to commit.

So what does this tell us about Taylor.  Well he’s definitely hard working and super fit. He disciplined and discreet. He’s proud of his body but uncomfortable with the attention it gets. He has a private life which he likes to keep that way. His family keep him a normal grounded seventeen year old and when he’s in public mode he’s always switched on. Careful of what he says, polite and good humoured. Ya know, if he lived next door to me, I’d hang out with him and play Wii games and stuff. I’d call him my buddy. Taylor’s a cool guy!

And anybody who says anything bad about Taylor…I have just one response - 

Don’t get me upset…grrr!

Fandango, festivals and fair maidens!

Well Twifans, as the last few days of September draw to a close, I look at the last bits of news to surface on the Twilight Saga for this month.

With just 54 days left to go ( that’s 7 weeks and 5 days ) the latest film in the Saga “New Moon” is already sold out in over fifty Fandango theaters nine weeks before the movie opens, November 20th, according to E! Online. They’re talking pre booked tickets, of course. Wow! I bet more are sold out now.  I told you months ago that New Moon would be bigger than Twilight.

And Burger King have teamed up with Summit  to sell New Moon merchandising with their “Burger shots” 6-pack meals. Promotion includes New Moon merchandise offers, coupons and collectible cards. They hope to cash in on the 380 million dollar haul taken in last year from Twilight. And of course they will. I think that promotion starts around November 16th.

Reported extended New Moon trailer footage is to be shown at the Rome Film Festival which starts October 15th -23rd. Way cool! - Yep! all  you need is a plane ticket.  Got one? (yeah! me neither…bummer!) According to ANSA the Italian news agency, attendees include George Clooney, Colin Farrell, Richard Gere and Meryl Streep and the legendary Andrea Bocelli. (If any of you uncultured rugrats don’t know who that is …shame on you! ) He…yes he… is the blind opera singer whose voice would make even a wet Mogwai pop out angelic singing fur balls. 

Tinsel Korey has many talents…not only is she playing Sam Uley’s love interest in New Moon, but she can also sing and play guitar. The First Nation cast sure are talented. Here she is singing her rendition of the Sam Bradley / Robert Pattinson song “Never think”. Yes that  song…the one where no one on earth could understand what Rob was sayin’ as he sang. The web was awash with all kinds of comments about it, until someone finally posted the correct lyrics. There’s no disputing his musical fingers though. Remember I posted a pic of those action figures of Bella, Edward, Jacob and Alice?. Well guess which one is out selling the rest, nope…nope, wrong again. The answer is

Alice!.  According to Moviemoron, for reasons unknown, the Alice action figure is outselling all the others. Their theory: Maybe they cast the wrong lead actress. Hmmm!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to Confirm Romance in Tell All Interview

 Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are reportedly set to confirm their romance in a “tell-all interview” with Haper’s Bazaar magazine. A Haper’s employee tells In Touch magazine the Twilight stars are finally going to dish about their relationship.

“Rob and Kristen were relatively open about their relationship,” says the insider.

The couple’s interview will be featured in the December issue of the magazine. Pattinson, 23, and Stewart, 19, are currently in Vancouver filming the third Twilight installment Eclipse. The sequel New Moon is due in theaters this November.

I’ll believe that when I see them actually saying it with my own eyes. But if they do… and it is true…can we finally…finally…finally stop talking about them. Geez!  By the way I’ve never heard of Haper’s Bazaar magazine. Have you?  I’ve heard of Harper’s Bazaar, maybe that’s what they mean. That’s Rob and Kristen as Edward and Bella in the dream sequence for the movie. It’s impossible for Rob to smile these days. Kinda sad really. Talk about living in a gilded cage.

Doing a piece on New Moon from Jacob’s point of view soon, but in my next post I will be taking a look at the important things Taylor Lautner reveals about himself in his recent interviews.

And until kristen and Rob actually do say something… take everything you read as magazine fodder unless it’s a direct quote. Ok?, Ok!

 As you can see Rob and Kristen and Billy are going over the script with Director David Slade. And Rob practices his driving for scenes in the movie. As you will remember in Eclipse there was a lot of driving back and forth from Forks to La Push for the handing over of baby sitting duties from Edward to Jacob. Bella had to be guarded day and night once it was clear she was the intended target of the newborns. This was an interesting time in the saga as Jacob became increasingly confident and the banter between him and Edward became more antagonistic. Although she loved them both, the signs were there when Bella would chastise Jacob for his jealous behaviour but forgave Edward for his. Still believing right up to the point of her turning that she did not deserve Edwards love, although she began to accept that he did love her but not as much as she loved him.

Take a look at these cute figures on sale now of Edward, Jacob, Bella and Alice from NNM.org. With so much merchandise from the movies on sale now it’s a wonder we don’t have the wolves as well.

Hey! Now I want one.! Yo toy making people…please make a Jacob wolf with real fur (you know I mean real fake fur right!)  and Jacob eyes. Yay! and make it so I can squeeze his ear and he’ll say “Don’t, get me upset” and growl. lol!

Ya know,  if I had to pick a favourite pic of Edward Cullen this would be it. I didn’t like the way they did the eyes, too “yellow like a wolf, when he really had a more bronze eye colour but this one in shadow is nice. What do you think girls? According to director David Slade’s tweets, there is lots of vampire talking and kissing goin’ on. Oh! to be a fly on the directors shoulder! sigh!

The New Moon soundtrack list has finally been released, people say it’s fantastic and yours to preorder for $9.99. I will wait til I hear it first before I decide. How can it be fantastic if no one has heard it yet? duh!Which means Twi fans …that we are not far off the movie release. Stephenie meyer is asking who should play the characters in her latest Book to movie project “The Host”. Now I have read this book earlier this year and although it was an interesting concept with only a slight departure from the Twilight Saga, it was in no way as riveting as Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. However I think it will make a great movie.

Who do you think should play the main characters?.

 Some of the suggestions I read earlier today were ridiculous, with no thought put into it at all. One thing is for sure, writer director Andrew Niccol will follow the “feel and flow” of the story and the person who plays the soul “Wanderer” in Melanie’s body will have to understand the word complex.

The Wolves are back in town!

Today I hear the boys are back in town. Yep! the fun end of the Twilight Saga Eclipse is back. Our wolf pack boys and girls arrive in Vancouver and the main squeezes as well. Here are some pics.

Boy can big Daddy sing!… Yes siree,  Gil Birmingham can sing like no one else on the Eclipse set. Rob’s an excellent pianist and guitar player but you can’t understand a word he sings. Jackson you can understand, but from what I’ve heard sounds like two songs playin’ at the same time. Not gettin’ the rhythm there.  No offence meant Jackson and Robert just being honest! Gil’s got a nations worth of soul.

Also touching down in Vancouver was Alex Rice who plays Sue Clearwater and already she’s letting everyone back home know she arrived safely. I’m sure everyone will welcome her with open arms. All pics from radaronline.

Bella Swans beautiful prom dresshas been recreated for the Twi fans who have proms coming up or special occasions. Belva Bodey of Black Diamond Bridal in Port Angeles, Washington has succeeded in getting the blue halter copied and as of last Tuesday they are on sale for $130 dollars. And that’s not all Bella’s birthday outfit is also on sale for a mere $239 dollars. (How’s you babysitting money coming along?lol).

I was watching Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson interview the Twilight cast after the Teen Choice Awards earlier this summer and it showed just how separate Robert Pattinson had become from his castmates. They were talking and laughing and then behind them Rob suddenly walked by. Shaun called to him and asked if he wanted to join his friends and he just kept going with a little wave. The cast were embarrassed and Shaun didn’t know what to say. Taylor made an excuse for him which was noble. E-onlines Marc Malkin has said today that Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg thinks we should keep our noses out of Robsten’s private business. Ms Rosenberg who could not even confirm if she would even be writing the fourth book “Breaking Dawn”  said she has “fleshed out”  the part of Riley and his relationship with Victoria for Eclipse.  So the writer and director will be true to the book but will expand some minor characters. Cool!

Now is there something going on between Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift?  Don’t know!…  but he sure did look a little embarrassed when asked about her and she says of him and I quote…”Kissing him was life changing”.  Hmmm! still don’t know, but getting embarrassed when asked about a pretty girl you kissed usually means you feel your exposing a private feeling you don’t want to share. Ah…he’s so cute.

Eclipse shots and plots!

Hi and welcome to Discussions with Annie!

Today we see the first shots of the newborns emerge.

Examiner.com picked up the story from Vancouver and as you can see this clips shows Riley and two other newborns emerge from the water looking determined and I’m told they head to the deserted beach and disappear into the forest. Yes folks they are on a mission to converge on forks and capture their target…little human Bella Swan.

Also Director David Slade has been tweeting that Taylor Lautner as been carrying Kristen Stewart and running with her in the forest for scenes in the movie. I hope his arms are not longer now Mr. Slade…can’t have you ruining our perfect Taylor and our even more perfect Jacob. No siree!!

Did you know…that the opening of New Moon on November 16th will actually open to a new moon. Yep! that’s what they say anyway. A new moon for New Moon and guess what…yep… right again, they’re saying that when Summit keep to their usual four day prior opening schedule of June 26th 2010 for Eclipse that that night will actual have a partial Lunar Eclipse too. Wow!!! Talk about timing. They didn’t say exactly what part of the world the partial eclipse will actually be seen from though.

Northern Sights and Southern Lights!

Now if you were Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and you wanted to get away for a few days, where would you go?  Well if you were in beautiful Canada -  Vancouver to be more specific, you might head out to Mayne Island off the Canadian coast. Yep, if reports are to be believed that’s exactly what Rob and Kristen did September 11th last.

 If my life was as hectic as theirs, I would do the exact same thing (provided they had internet connection of course!)

In fact they headed to the Fairview Farm B+B, (opposite) where peace and tranquility are the norm. You can have breakfast in bed in one of the blue or yellow rooms, or on the terrace.  You can stroll around the beautifully manicured and partially forested grounds or even take a trip around the inlet. (Mmmm I’m there already) 

Interesting fact:  The one hundred and eleven year old house was actually moved via barge from False Creek in Vancouver to Mayne Island in 1980, to where it now stands. Pics courtesy of fairviewonmayne.com.

And speaking of Robert Pattinson (left with Kristen Stewart), the 23 year old was voted Top Fantasy Teacher  by students who played a fantasy school game. The report in Calcuttatube.com told how the students voted that if Robert Pattinson became their English Literature teacher, they would work really hard to get good grades.

The Knoxville premiere of New Moon will be screened at Turkey Creek, Knoxville by hosts Regal and Summit Entertainment, November 17th this year, a day after the LA premiere. Unlike LA though, Knoxville will be giving a limited number of lucky fans the opportunity to win a pair of tickets for the purchase price of $100, all in aid of charity. These tickets will also allow the lucky winners the right to enter the reception area for the stars (presumably Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner). Expect the population of Knoxville Tennessee to swell to bursting this November.

Eclipse Director David Slade (above)is still having problems with airplanes flying over Vancouver. This annoyed the 30 days of night director as it interfered with filming and as if that wasn’t bad enough there seems to be a problem with goats too!  What exactly the problem is I don’t know…perhaps the wolfpack (Taylor Lautner above is one) are distracted by them and start chasing them around, lol!. Of course everyone knows goats will eat almost anything. Perhaps they are eating the set, ha ha, or the director’s notes lol,… or Rob’s socks …right off his feet, lmao!.       Ahem!…er…sorry!

MTV VMA’s…insults and insights!

Hi and welcome to Discussions with Annie!,

Well I cannot even begin to tell you what I see in this picture. It’s amazin’ what celebrities choose to protect on stage. Anyway that’s another story. In 67 days time my butt will be parked on a seat of my choosing and I will be telling any chatty or squealy people to shush or get out ( I might even attempt to throw them out )  because New Moon will be finally finally on screen and I will not allow anyone or any noisy foodstuffs to interrupt my viewing pleasure. At last my movie, my favourite book on screen will be here. My blog on that will either be full of love or a raging torrent of abuse for Chris Weitz. “Sure sure”  true true, we’ll see, we’ll see we’ll see.

Well the MTV video music awards passed off with out a hitch didn’t they (not!). There will be more footage in the coming days but for now… Before I go on I feel compelled to say that the kayne West thing was uncalled for and the Dany Brean comment on YouTube was a succinct answer to that…so here it is ( posted in response to this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd9uboYxels  )

 Afterwards West was escorted from the building and later apologisd to Taylor on his blog. Not good enough I say.  Cowards way out in my opinion. And has anyone ever told him that an all caps post is considered shouting? How do you apologise shouting? Check out Taylor’s (19) reaction on MTV.com.

Jackson Rathbone - what if…

Today I’m asking Jackson Rathbone…what if…

Why is he not the one who is stalked 24/7.  He’s handsome, he’s got his own band, he even lets you hear his songs. He’s not shy, he’s always smiling and friendly. Well the answer lies in there some where…maybe!

The true reason is probably a very simple one.  He didn’t play Edward Cullen!

It’s the character that catapulted Robert Pattinson to fame, just the way Bella Swan did for Kristen Stewart. The world’s teenagers fell in love with a character and if you remember they didn’t want Robert to play Edward at first. Now the world is sick, sore and double tired of “Robsten”. I for one would be happy if Summit decided to lock them up in their rooms for the rest of the saga. They should spend more time and money on the rest of the cast who are far more user friendly and interesting, not to mention handsome and beautiful. I say let’s have a meet and greet with the New Moon cast “minus the big three”.  That would be way cool! But I digress.

What if Jackson got the part of Edward what would his life be like now. I can’t help thinking he would have done it differently.  I for one can totally imagine him as Edward Cullen. How ’bout Edward Cullen with Jasper Hale’s persona and total “coolness”. Bella would never know a moments panic when Jadward was close. (Oh! fine its a crap melding, what would you prefer… Edsper?). But perhaps for a simple twist of fate Jackson Rathbone could have been Edward Cullen. You can keep your moody vampire,  Jackson is a cool Jasper and would have been an even cooler Edward…dead cool in fact. lol

Now I have one teeny tiny thing in common with Jackson. I have spent time in his birth place - Singapore.

Yep! 24 year old Jackson was born in Singapore. He spent his later formative years in Texas before heading to LA to find acting work. Jackson whose favourite actors are Christopher Walken, Clint Eastwood and Bryce Dallas Howard started out as a reporter for Disney 411 and then went on to star in The O.C., Twilight (of course), Criminal Minds, and Dread to name but a few. And of course he’s in the Twilight Saga’s New Moon and the long awaited The last Airbender which I can’t wait to see.

  Currently filming the third installment of the Twilight Saga - Eclipse,  Jackson whose hairstyles amaze and amuse can be seen wandering around Vancouver Canada these days when he’s shooting there and of course hanging out with his buddies, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz and his band of course ”100 Monkeys” whose band member Ben Graupner is also his roommate.

Tell me people - What do you think of Jackson as Edward?   I say fantastic but what do you think?
