Well Twi fans, the end is in sight and I’m so looking forward to the movie New Moon, the first sequel to the Twilight Saga. There’s a lot riding on this movie. I am expecting a high standard of acting, directing and especially CGI. The Edward fans (otherwise confused as Robert Pattinson fans) will love it no matter what, but those of us who are movie fans…who are fans of the book genre (God, I said that awful word - sorry!) and believe the book series itself deserved the very best of all three, will be scathing in our criticism if it fails to deliver. People are so overly impressed with Kristen, Robert, Taylor and the cast that they never fully cast a critical eye on their work. This time Twi fans I want you guys to really look at the acting and tell me if you felt they were worth the millions they get paid for their portrayal of the characters or not, ok? ok!. Way cool!

Personally I think his voice is overrated. Now I’m not saying that to be mean nor am I saying that from a purely ignorant point of view either. I have studied music and classical violin in the past and his voice does not appeal to me. It’s mind boggling the amount of famous singers out there that any decent vocal coach worth their salt would never call a singer. The whiners, the acrobatic warblers and the nose singers that make my ears bleed. But don’t get me started on that. There is however no denying his magical fingers. To play a piece well you have to understand it and feel it. He can do that.

The wolves Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier along with Christian Serratos and Edi Gathegi at Nordstrom in Canoga park, CA recently. Promotional tour yes, but not all work and no play as these happy faces prove. (Pic justjared).
Now this picture from Twilightersanonymous.com is very interesting. Remember how critical I was of the top original one…and now look at the second later one below it. Same CGI work but look at the difference. The face is much more wolf like. I’m still not impressed with the work so far but I also know how incredibly hard the CGI team work and I will wait and see how it is spliced in. I still think a day trip to see some wolves in action would have been very helpful. Look I like wolves ok so bite me…grrr! ha ha lol..made myself laugh there.
By the way…have you checked out Mac’sTwi Attack page lately. She’s doing a chapter by chapter synopsis of New Moon to bring it all back to you just before the movie. Check it out at www.twilightmovies.org/mac .
Taylor Lautner has sure come a long way from little long haired 15 year old Jacob Black to 6′5″ and growing 16 year old Jacob (also werewolf) Black. Taylor 17 has aged himself over the past year and by the time Breaking Dawn opens in theatres we will see a very different Taylor. He’s growing up right in front of us.
Ok well maybe not exactly growing “up” as the picture below will show , but he has certainly filled out and besides boys are still growing in their late teens, so Taylor could still jump up. If not, he’s still tall in our eyes, right girls?. Team Jacob all the way.
And finally a page from Glamour magazine who flew to Vancouver, Canada to catch up with the rest of the Cullen siblings and boy did they get a photo op of the century. I just love these photos of Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone.

Promotions and parties!

As the cast of the Twilight Saga Eclipse disperse around the globe to promote just the first sequel “New Moon”, the work of promoting Eclipse will not begin for some time to come. By all accounts New Moon will be fascinating. I hope so… I am so looking forward to seeing it. Having read the books many times for research I find still that New Moon is my favourite.
As Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner arrive in Brazil to begin the rounds of promoting New Moon worldwide. Robert Pattinson headed to Tokyo, Japan to start his promotional duties. All parties seemed to be more relaxed and certainly in these two countries, are less likely to be mowed down by a frenzy of blood thirsty fans and photographers. Especially in Japan where people are incredibly polite and turning up on time is considered late. Yep! Want to be on time in Japan?…arrive fifteen minutes early.
And what of Rob and Kristen’s relationship?…don’t know. Someone on Kristen’s side has reportedly denied the split, which means they accept that they are together. I don’t know what’s going on. The whole thing gives me the pips. (all pics courtesy of newmoonmovie)

Ashley Greene and pal Kellan Lutz hosted a hallowe’en party in Tao, Las Vegas along with Sam Trammell and other cast members from True Blood. Their costumes were great but I’m not sure who Ashley was supposed to be dressed up as. Any clues Twi
fans?.
And for all you people out celebrating the spooky season, I sure hope you didn’t end up like this silly pumpkin. I bet he’s hiding in a haystack somewhere right now, he’s so ashamed lol! Drinking to excess is way past stupid.

Kristen dumps Robert for real!

As the cast and crew begin departing from beautiful Vancouver Canada 
(below) we hear some final Northern news about the famous Twilight cast maybe for the last time. yep! As the final shots go in the can, the teardown of the sets begin and the forests of Forks (Vancouver, that is) is given back to the wild.
Most notable today was the news that kristen Stewart has reportedly dumped Robert Pattinson for real.
Why? you might well ask. Er…because he asked her to marry him. Irish televisions “Expose” (A magazine fashion and celebrity show aired at 7pm October 29th) brought this news on the dish of the day part of the show. Stewart who reportedly didn’t want to get that serious called a halt to the romance they refused to talk about. The couple who never admitted to dating were plagued by the paparazzi and often never ventured out in Vancouver at all for fear of being mobbed by fans and photographers who just wanted to know one thing. “Are you two dating or what?” Ya know, if this is actually true , it makes sense. If you were crazy in love with some guy, you’d want the whole world to know about it, wouldn’t you? Kristen obviously didn’t feel the way Robert did. She’s only 19 and has so much livin’ to do that getting married is ridiculous!. What do you think Twi fans?

Eclipse director David Slade (left) had a wrap party last Saturday for the cast and crew at the famous Vancouver Aquarium and Marine science centre in Stanley park, Vancouver. In attendance were ever happy Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Elizabeth Reaser, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ashley Greene and even Robert Pattinson came and stayed about forty minutes according to E online. But Kristen Stewart did not attend. Not only was the venue a beautiful place to have the wrap party but 100 monkeys entertained the crowd and all the aquatic inhabitants as well. Nice!. Taylor Lautner was seen at Vancouver airport just days ago leaving Canada. Where was he going?
Don’t know, but he then turned up at a hockey match at LA’s Staples Centre with none other than Taylor Swift and according to x17online.com they apparently spent the night at the same hotel. Yeah right!
Same hotel maybe but Taylor Swift whose 19 and Taylor Lautner 17 do happen to have a movie they made together coming out soon and my guess is that publicity was needed and asked for. (Pics: Lainey gossip and nydailynews.com)
And finally the first of the finalists for the Rob O’Lantern competition has been posted. It’s very well done but I can’t figure out how it was done. Some parts are cut out but as for the rest I have no clue.

Rob O’ Lantern submissions!

Just to keep you updated on the http://your.mtv.com Rob O’ Lantern competition which closed October 26th. I have included some of the submissions today. Remember it was meant to be fun but some have gone to extremes with their work. There’s no disputing the talent that’s out there, whether it’s a real pumpkin or a ceramic one. Personally I prefer the real thing but any hoo here are some entries. Competition winners will be announced October 30th. on your.mtv.com.
So guys what do you think?, talent out there or not. I say way talented but some need to take a better picture of their work. These were the best I find that weren’t too dark to see.

Fiction, facts and fountains!

With just weeks to go to the opening of New Moon in movie theatres world wide, the gossip mongers have finally run out of rubbish to write about and have begun to rehash the old stuff. It’s no secret that the tabloid and magazine fodder favourites have been Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. 
But in world Cinema terms they are only the most talked about in Twilight circles. The hype surrounding Robert (pictured right) and Kristen (below) is only relatable to Twilight. I wonder what will happen when Twilight is over and done. After losing out to Johnny Depp in a recent poll, only time will tell for Robert Pattinson.
And the gossip!
They’re dating!…yawn. They’re living together in the hotel in Vancouver, Canada!…yawn. Kristen Stewart is pregnant….yawn. Robert Pattinson is the hottest new star in Hollywood…ZzzZzzZzzzzzzzzzzzz. These as yet unproven revelations ( which by the way come from “anonymous - can’t reveal my source - sources”) put me to sleep. Why would anyone besides a twelve year old (in love with Edward Cullen - the character in the movies franchise, The Twilight Saga, whom they mistake Robert Pattinson for) want to know anything as boring about a person. And as for Robert Pattinson being the “hottest new star” as quoted in many magazines and Twilight websites over the past few months ad nauseum, I dispair. ( Note they don’t say actor. ) Sorry, I can’t say that without a direct quote. No one even knew him before Twilight except for Harry Potter fans.

Excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but there are far more deserving of that title. Dakota Fanning ( pictured below with Cameron Bright. Pic: Summit) has been acting her socks off since the age of eight or so and far more deserving in my opinion ( I base that on her body of work and her achievements), but I will leave this hot potato for another time when I have the details to back that up. I want to be fair. I love Twilight, the books, the movies (hopefully) and I will let you know about the acting and the directing later. Now lets move on.
It was a rainy day in beautiful Rome when these three amigos (pictured below) stood for photographs and did their bit for the promotion of the Twilight Saga New Moon at the Rome Film Festival. I wonder if the went to visit the famous Trevi Fountain (above ) while they were there. It is a sight to behold Twi fans and it is said that if you throw a coin into the fountain and make a wish, you will return to Rome one day. Something like that anyway. This 85 foot high work of art was finished by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762.
And just in case Twi fans, you have not seen the latest New Moon trailers in all their glory. Here they are. Just watching them makes me want to camp out outside my local movie theatre.

Harvest time!

Now that we’re well into harvest time and people are making stuff and staying indoors more, I thought I’d take a look at what people are making and doing in the chilly October evenings. Well it’s chilly in some parts of the world Twi fans. And what, you may ask are all you people indoors making?..why Twilight stuff of course. Here’s what I found. No, no crazy Edward pumpkins yet!. Can’t wait to see those.
Twilight cakes
Now these two cakes (above) caught my eye immediately. The first, showcased on finalcake.com covers the four books er…literally and when I saw the very laid back lion and lamb on top I laughed. The second one showed some creative insight and went for the deliciously dark chocolate forest look. Saw that one on flickr.com. Also on flickr.com was this beautifully detailed “Edward’s meadow” scene from Twilight. This must have taken hours of work.

Then I came across a Jacob wolf and glass bead pendant at wavecloud. Check out other work at wavecloudetsy.blogspot.com. That pic got lost in a galaxy far, far away, lol.
Below is a teeny tiny Edward made from clay at cutoutandkeep.com. There is also an amusing account of how “eddie” is made and the trouble they had finding the right colour for his hair. “Eddie” is then baked and glazed so he is all cute and sparkly.
The next pic is of a beautiful charm bracelet made from glass beads and shells and literally bits of stone, glass and wood. Things in fact, you might find on a beach, maybe even First beach. Beautiful!
Fanpop.com had this Twilight styled bedroom. It’s very romantic but I have to say I’m puzzled by the two beds. I would imagine you would not need two beds for a quiet romantic evening in this very romantic room. You’d definitely want to be alone with that special guy.
No not you! …you guys are too young to be thinking of romantic nights and even then not before talking it over with your parents, who’ll say “Of course dear, it’s only fifteen years til your 30th birthday, we’ll pitch in with the scented candles then”…yeah right!. Seriously though, having a boyfriend is one thing but goin’ this far is way way way too far. Enjoy being beautiful, unique, unspoilt you. Leave the crazy, cave dweller, one track mind man stuff til your older and your better equipped to make good decisions. Actually I think this is a room for two Twilight fan girls. Perfect for sisters or friends on a sleep over who are reading the books and want to talk Twilight all night long. Yea! that’s better. Me likey!

New Moon and beyond, Jacob’s story!

Well we’re almost there. Just 30 days to go and time to remember what New Moon was all about and why Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black carries the burden in this first sequel of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga.
Once upon a time not so very long ago…
…a young Native American Quileute boy named Jacob Black met daughter of police chief Charlie Swan. He was just fifteen years old. As soon as he saw her he was smitten and a crush developed that would change his life beyond recognition.
Jacob was a happy teenager and now that Bella was on his mind he bugged his father Billy to visit the chief’s house so he could see her. She was beautiful, they got along and everything was perfect.
Until she met him!…
Bella Swan fell in love with vampire Edward Cullen and drifted away from him like the remnants of a dream at dawn. Months passed and Jacob got on with his life. He grew taller, he went to school, he swam at La Push beach with his friends and he thought about Bella. Always he thought about Bella.
Then one day he heard that the vampire Cullens left town and the Quileute tribe celebrated. He waited, and waited. And then out of the blue…
Bella came back to him. But she was not the way he remembered her. She was pale and thin and very broken. Jacob had been feeling angry lately for no reason and just seeing her like this made him want to rip something or someone (he amended) apart. But as he walked out to her she smiled at him and sunshine filled his heart and he just picked her up and swung her round.
To Bella, Jacob had grown even taller, he looked like a man now at just sixteen and he was beautiful. When she was with Jacob, sunshine began to pierce the frozen depths of her heart and life seemed bearable again.
From that moment on they were together and the friendship grew and grew and for Jacob, blossomed into love. Loving Bella was instinctive, he knew her somehow, knew what to say, what made her laugh, what made her hug him, (which was really cool for him) and to never ever mention Edward Cullen’s name. I guess he knew that she loved him but he didn’t want to face that because he hoped, if he was patient, very very patient, that she would forget or maybe put aside that love and love him instead. Yes!…above all, Jacob Black hoped Bella Swan would love him.
Bella was accident prone and courted danger which worried him. There was something he was missing, something significant. Then one evening while they were out with that moron Mike Newton something happened. Feeling unwell he left her early, something he wouldn’t normally do and changed beyond possibility. Jacob Black became a werewolf.
His father tried to help him but in the end it was older Quileute boy Sam Uley who steered him through the worst and introduced him to his childhood friends as they really are. Sam Uley, Embry Call, Quil Ateara, Jared and even that hothead Paul were all werewolves. It seemed they all loved what they were except him. For him it meant being away from is love Bella. Forbidden to tell her by Alpha male Sam, Jacob was in torment.
Bella, lost without her sunshine tried again and again to see him and when she finally did he was angry, different and distant. But all was not lost and as with love, Jacob found a way to make her understand and they were friends again. Jacob felt that although the cliff dive Bella stupidly undertook on her own was terrifying, it may have been a turning point for them. Bella and Jacob were now at that crossroads where you make a choice and commit. So close was Jacob to achieving his goal that an actual physical turning of the head to a kiss was all it would take to capture that dream.
Then she came back… Alice, Edward Cullen’s sister and ruined everything.
Jacob was angry, incensed in fact and got out of the truck and walked into the night, the pain of rejection bitter on his tongue and raging in his heart.
Believing she was dead Edward intended exposing the volturi to incite them to execute him and end his suffering. Alice had other plans and without a thought for Jacob, Bella raced with Alice to save Edward in Italy. Jacob had turned up at her door that night to see if she was alive (an excuse of course) but he fell apart when he realised she would go to Edward after all they had been to each other. He begged her to stay but she left anyway.
Life went painfully on for Jacob until a contrived situation led to a kiss. With Bella finally in his arms he forced her to see what her heart denied. She loved him too. But nearly being killed by the newborns didn’t bring Bella to him. She would always love Edward the most. Could life suck any more?
Time passed and Bella and Edward were getting married, the evidence of which lay on the kitchen table. A hand written invitation. As if!
Being a wolf was all he had now and he ran and ran into oblivion, until scent and sound and the earth flying by beneath his paws was all that sustained him. Living on instinct alone he searched for peace. But as surely as a beaten pup still loves his master, Jacob returned to the girl he loved to dance with her on her wedding day.
He learned that Edward intended to sleep with his still human bride on their wedding night, the potential to kill her evident. Jacob, enraged by that fact nearly lost control whilst holding Bella and had to be restrained. With all his strength and control he reigned in his rage. Edward thinking Bella in danger pulled her away like lightning. A standoff ensued and time passed again.
He then learned she was pregnant. To be buried alive in molten lava would be more tolerable. Would this cruelty never end?. But there was an end of sorts for Jacob.
Thinking the child had killed his beloved Bella in childbirth he went to rip it apart only to look into the most beautiful face on earth. 
The bonds that so cruelly bound him to Bella fell away and the love that fuelled his pain for so long simply ceased to be. Released as he was from his emotional burden he felt light and heady. Relief flooded through him and with it a new bond bound him. But this one was different, this one felt like it fit.
Jacob imprinted on the child Renesmee and his future path was set. Now, for the rest of his life, without hesitation, without any thought for his own safety, he instinctively knew he would protect her for all of hers. And in that tiny perfect face he finally felt at peace.
Looking down at the child in his arms, he watched her little mouth curl up into a smile and her chubby arms reach for him. Jacob Black had found the true purpose of his bond with Bella Swan and this time the object of his affections loved him back.
The storyline is from the Stephenie Meyer novels The Twilight Saga 1-4 but the words are mine. Hope you liked it.

Robert Pattinson star of Summit Entertainment’s vampire saga “Twilight”, is seriously considering quitting acting after he’s finished with the franchise because he doesn’t want to be involved in “lame work”. The 23 year old star, who has won quite a fanbase with his role as Edward Cullen in “Twilight”, is unsure of his future as an actor. He recently told Seventeen Magazine “I don’t even know if I want to be an actor that long”. “I don’t even know how to be someone else…if I start doing lame work, I’m not going to stick around and do it”. Well, if Pattinson does decide to hang up his acting boots, rest assured, a handful of riots may erupt. You’d better rethink your decision Mr. Pattinson.

Got any blood to spare?. Donate blood at The Holiday Inn, Naperville on October 24th 2009 
and you could walk away with tickets to an early showing of New Moon. And you’d be doing something really good for someone. Make sure you bring ID to prove your age. Birth cert, drivers licence etc.. just in case.
The first 250 people who register to donate blood at a LifeSource blood drive in Naperville on Oct. 24 will get two free tickets to a Nov. 19 midnight screening of “New Moon,” the latest in the vampire series.
The next 250 donors will get one free ticket.
The blood drive will be at the Holiday Inn in Naperville from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 24.
